The first ever university-based Unibator- 'Sheikh Kamal IT Business Incubator', Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Rosy Jamal dormitories in CUET were inaugurated virtually by pressing the buttons of a Nokia phone 'Made in Bangladesh' on Wednesday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the ceremony via video conference from Ganobhaban.
Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Senior Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Tofazzal Hossain Mia were present at the Ganobhaban end. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak welcomed the gathering from the same end.
While welcoming the gathering, Palak said that, the first ever IT business incubator of the country has been set up at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology on a 4.7-acres site. There are training opportunities for 220 people here. After starting from July 2017, three months before the deadline, the projects have been completed. Even after maintaining the quality, it has been deposited Tk. 3 crore in the government treasury. Several startups and IT companies have rented two floors from Dhaka in the 50,000 square meters area of the Unibator.
He said that, according to the 2008 election manifesto, the mindset gap in setting up business centers within universities has been bridged today by setting up incubator centers among universities after setting up high-tech parks across the country. Today, 13,000 young people are working in 9 high-tech parks in Bangladesh. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the incubator today with a world-renowned Nokia phone Made in Bangladesh. Which is located at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakair, Gazipur. In this way, this changed Bangladesh of 3 years has emerged as a wonder of development to the world today.
Palak further said that this initiative today will contribute to fulfilling the dreams of the university graduates. Will form a bridge between investors with the university. Through this we will be able to move towards a self-reliant entrepreneurial dependent rich digital economy.

Senor Secretary of ICT Division NM Zeaul Alam conducted the ceremony.
Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder, former Chairman Zahurul Haque, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, former MD Hosne Ara Begum and others were also present at that time.
